Ngorongoro conservancy
Location: It is located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. It is 610 meters (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometers (100 square miles. The Crater was voted by Seven Natural Wonders as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in Arusha, Tanzania.
Wildlife: Approximately 25,000 large animals, including the black rhinoceros, the African buffalo, hippopotamus, blue wildebeest, Grant’s zebra, eland, Thomson’s gazelles, Waterbucks, cheetah, wild dog, leopard, Hyena, Elephant, Warthog, Jackal, Serval Cat, and several species of birds Flamingos, The crater has one of the densest known populations of East African lions numbering 62.
Climate: The short rains are from November to December and the long rains from February to April, However, It is usually a good time to see the migration on the plains. In turn, this attracts large number of predators and results in spectacular interactions between predators and prey.
The dry season (May to October) holds its own beauty. It is the best time for game viewing because the animals are concentrated along permanent water sources.
