Day 1: Arusha – Fly to Kogatende – Northern Serengeti Game Drive

After breakfast, you will be collected from your Arusha hotel and transferred to Arusha Airport for your scheduled bush flight to Kogatende Airstrip in Northern Serengeti. The flight significantly reduces travel time compared with reaching the northern Serengeti by road and allows you to begin exploring shortly after arrival.

Your professional safari guide will meet you at Kogatende with your private 4×4 safari vehicle. From the airstrip, begin your first game drive through the northern Serengeti as you make your way toward camp.

Depending on current wildlife movements, the afternoon may be spent exploring Kogatende, the Mara River corridor or nearby plains. During the migration season, wildebeest and zebra herds may be present throughout the region, while resident wildlife includes lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and numerous antelope species.

Day 2: Full-Day Great Migration Game Drive – Mara River Region

After an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive in Northern Serengeti. Your guide will plan the day’s route according to recent wildlife activity, herd locations and information from other guides in the area.

During the migration season, large concentrations of wildebeest and zebras may move through the Kogatende and Mara River region. If herds are approaching the river, your guide may position the vehicle near suitable viewing areas and wait for activity to develop. River crossings can happen suddenly—or not at all—so patience and flexibility are an important part of the experience.

Even without a crossing, the region offers excellent wildlife viewing. Look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other resident wildlife, while rocky kopjes and open plains provide excellent opportunities for photography.

Enjoy your picnic lunch in the bush before continuing the afternoon game drive. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti & Lamai Wedge Exploration

Start the day with an early morning game drive when temperatures are cooler, wildlife is often active and the soft morning light can be excellent for photography.

Depending on wildlife movements and road conditions, your guide may explore the Lamai Wedge, Kogatende plains, Mara River region or other productive areas of Northern Serengeti. The Lamai area is known for its open landscapes, rocky kopjes and wildlife habitat, offering a different perspective from the major river-crossing locations.

Return to camp around midday for lunch and time to relax before heading out again later in the afternoon. Your guide will continue adapting the route according to current sightings rather than simply repeating the previous day’s game drive.

During the evening, return to camp for dinner. Depending on your selected accommodation, optional experiences such as sundowners or a bush dinner may also be available at an additional cost or by prior arrangement.
